Contract manufacturing for complex mechanical assemblies

Once the project scope and KPIs have been defined with the customer, the process moves into its next phase.

The second stage of our mechanical outsourcing process focuses on precision machining, where design specifications are turned into individual components. Each part is manufactured in accordance with the technical drawings, with close attention to tolerances and functional requirements, ensuring smooth integration with the subsequent phases of electrical wiring, assembly, and final testing.

What does contract manufacturing mean?

Contract manufacturing is a production model that allows companies to streamline their manufacturing structure, increase operational flexibility, and respond more effectively to changes in market demand.

In the industrial mechanical sector, this approach enables companies to focus on their core activities, such as design or commercialization, while delegating technical execution to specialized suppliers capable of delivering precision machining and reliable production performance.

At DICO GROUP, we support our customers by coordinating third party processing and subcontracted operations within a structured and controlled framework.

Our technically skilled and experienced team evaluates suppliers and turns production requirements into practical, reliable solutions.

From individual processes to complete turnkey machines

Every machine begins with an idea. Our subcontract machining services include:

in-house manufacturing of complex mechanical components on 5-axis CNC machining centers;

mechanical assembly using in-house or customer-supplied components.

These processes are carried out by a team of over 250 in-house specialists, using a modern and continuously updated machine park and an advanced digital ecosystem (ERP, MES, CRM, WMS) that allows us to track, document, and optimize every stage of the manufacturing process.

The benefits of subcontract machining

Working with a qualified subcontract machining partner offers clear operational and strategic benefits:

  • lower investment in machinery and internal resources
  • shorter and more efficient production lead times
  • streamlined project management

An experienced supplier ensures consistent quality, flexible production volumes, and effective handling of changes during the manufacturing process. Access to advanced CNC technologies and precision machining expertise also represents a clear competitive advantage in increasingly demanding markets. These benefits are further supported by improved planning through full process traceability, along with a tangible reduction in the operational risks typically associated with in-house production.

An extension of your production team

Our aim is not simply to be a supplier, but to act as a technical extension of your team and purchasing department.

We work closely with engineering and purchasing teams at leading companies in the packaging, pharmaceutical, food, textile, and paper industries, delivering practical solutions that simplify the management of complex mechanical projects.

Whether you are developing a new machine, expanding production capacity, or handling an overflow order, DICO GROUP offers a reliable, responsive, and technically skilled partnership you can depend on.

Controlled processes, certified quality

At DICO GROUP, every project follows a structured, coordinated process. We start with a detailed review of the technical drawings, select the most suitable suppliers for the required machining operations, and analyse manufacturing cycles as part of the quotation process.

The entire procurement process is overseen by our Quality Department, equipped with advanced measuring instruments and a climate-controlled metrology room for dimensional inspections. We also perform functional testing on subassemblies and complete machines, including tests under simulated operating conditions, to ensure both compliance with specifications and reliable performance within the final system.

Working with us helps keep project risks under control while ensuring reliable performance and on-time delivery. We are also experienced in managing in-process design revisions, prototypes, and technical changes, with all activities tracked, shared, and planned together with the customer.
